Lean PM

The 5 Principles of Lean

  1. Identify Value: Understand what the customer actually values.
  2. Map the Value Stream: Identify all the steps in your process and eliminate those that don’t add value.
  3. Create Flow: Ensure the project work moves smoothly from one step to the next without delays.
  4. Establish Pull: Only start work when there is a demand for it.
  5. Seek Perfection: Continuously improve your processes to eliminate waste and improve quality.

Eliminating Waste (Muda)

Lean identifies eight types of waste, including waiting, overproduction, and unnecessary motion. By identifying and eliminating these, PMs can deliver projects faster and more efficiently.
