Quick Definition:
A Scrum Master is a servant-leader who ensures the Scrum team follows the Scrum framework. They facilitate meetings, remove obstacles, and coach the team on Agile principles.
The Servant-Leader Role
Unlike a traditional project manager, a Scrum Master does not have authority over the team. Instead, they serve the team by:
- Facilitating Scrum Events: Ensuring Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives are productive.
- Removing Impediments: Clearing any obstacles that prevent the team from completing their work.
- Coaching the Team: Helping members understand and live by Agile values and Scrum practices.
