Quick Definition:
Scrum-of-Scrums (SoS) is a cross-team coordination technique used when multiple Scrum teams are working on the same project or product. It’s a meeting where representatives from each team share progress and identify dependencies.
The SoS Meeting
The SoS meeting is similar to a Daily Stand-up but at a higher level. Representatives (often the Scrum Master or a technical lead) answer four questions:
- What has my team done since we last met?
- What will my team do before we meet again?
- Is anything slowing my team down?
- Are we about to put something in another team’s way?
Why Use SoS?
SoS helps large projects maintain the agility of small teams by ensuring constant communication and alignment across the entire organization.
